We were delighted when our Civil Engineering experts were chosen by Material Change Limited to construct its new anaerobic digestion plant, the Helmdon AD Plant. Located at Black Pits Farm in Northamptonshire, the 2.4 million pound construction project began in June 2014. Now completed, the facility produces gas for the National Grid.
The Civil Engineering team from SES' Special Projects constructed far more than the new digester and post-digester tanks - important as those are. They also built two new silage clamps, with an impressive 10,000m3 capacity. Not to mention concrete foundations for the site, concrete access roads, duct work, and drainage for surface water and foul water alike.
