SES were asked to construct two portals and a 700m long tunnel between Old Cliffe Hill and New Cliff Hill quarries, a drivage 9m wide x 7m high in Granite by Drill and Blast Techniques, to provide a new connection between the old and new quarries and access to crushing plant.
This was a Bolted tunnel with additional shotcrete support where dictated by conditions
